Humber Sceptre saloon. 1725cc with overdrive. 31,000 miles from new! The eagle eyed amongst you may recognise this car, I bought it in 2009 from the daughter in law of the original owner, who had carefully stored it since her father in law died in the early 1970's. Then the mileage was a genuine (as verified by a letter) 28920. We recommissioned the car, overhauling brakes, new tyres and battery, and MoT. I then promptly sold it back to the lady I bought it from, because she couldn't let it go! She then kept it until Feb 2013 only doing another 200 miles! I am now selling the car for the gentleman who bought it from her, he has used it more, sorted out a few problems from to lack of use, new full stainless exhaust, overhauled carb and repainting due to the paint having gone dull. Mileage is now just under 31,000 miles from new and this is reflected in the condition, especially of the superb interior, the boot still has its original carpet and tools, the doors shut beautifully as they should. Chrome is original and has some spotting (not rust, more age spots!), but polishes up well, the hubcaps aren't perfect, but there is a new set in the boot. There are two workshop manuals, drivers handbook, some old MoT's, buff logbook and V5C. The car drives as you would expect, nice and tight, no horrible noises, nips along well and the overdrive clicks in and out on demand. The car will be sold with a new MoT and service. Tax exempt, insurance is cheap, go on, you know it makes sense!!
